Vacancy: Data Analyst


Objectives

  • To provide a strategy on the data needed to support MPQC’s current and future goals
  • To ensure sufficient data is collected to meet the needs of the organisation
  • To analyse and report on operational and performance data, 
  • To provide actionable insights and opportunities to senior management.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Implement efficient ways of collecting data from various sources 
  • Review collected data and ensure sufficient data is being collected to meet the needs of the organisation and its’ strategy.
  • Analyse data and produce operational and performance reports, providing actionable insights and opportunities to the management team, including but not limited to:
    • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities across usage, workforce, and training data.
    • Deliver compliance metrics for both customers and internal stakeholders.
    • Analyse role-based training requirements, including which companies provide specific training.
    • Evaluate eLearning performance, including completion rates, drop-offs, pass/fail outcomes, and retake frequency.
    • Analyse entry compliance and identify key reasons for non-compliance, highlighting recurring trends.
    • Churn risk, adoption patterns, and site usage behaviour.
    • Demographic trends across the user base.
    • Risk management by tracking MPA incident statistics against competency levels, interventions, and bans through a maintained risk register.
  • Develop and maintain databases, data systems, and data visualisation tools
  • Collaborate with different teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation
  • Design and implement data-driven strategies to support business objectives
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of initiatives
  • Handling sensitive data and details in line with established protocols.
  • Educating final users on newly introduced reports and dashboard interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including MPQC colleague and managers, Procheck and members/customers
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and business intelligence

  • Comprehensive data set to support organisation strategy, industry and member needs
  • Improved Operational and Performance Reports, in line with agreed metrics 
  • Actionable Insights/opportunities evidenced through data analysis

Person Specification

Essential:

  • 3+ years experience in data analysis
  • Deep knowledge of programming languages
  • Skilled at using data visualization tools, such as Power BI
  • Able to communicate complex findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and techniques is a plus
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable:

  • Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and techniques is a plus
  • Knowledge of the mineral products sector 
  • Experience of having worked in a membership organisation
