Estimated Read Time: 1 mins

Mental ill health is responsible for 72 million working days lost and costs £34.9 billion each year (Centre for Mental Health, 2017).
Among the general population, 20.6% of people have had suicidal thoughts at some point, 6.7% have attempted suicide and 7.3% have engaged in self-harm. (Statistics supplied by MHFA)
MP Skills are now approved by MHFA England to deliver Mental Health First Aid courses. This course is specially designed to educate delegates all about mental health and the necessary actions they should take if they believe a colleague or friend is in need of support. We aim to provide individuals with the confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress.
The course is a highly informative and interactive experience for those attending, enabling attendees to learn about the silent struggles that co-workers could possibly be facing alone.
From helping individuals recognise the symptoms of mental ill health to even making attendees mindful of their own wellbeing, this course is packed with the knowledge to help make a vital change to the way we perceive and handle mental health in the workplace.
The course runs over two days, consisting of short lectures and group discussions. Successful completion leads to a certificate of attendance to say you are a Mental Health First Aider.
