Plant Operator Training & Assessment Competence Scheme
The MPQC Mobile Plant Operator Training and Assessment Competence Scheme is firmly established as the recognised scheme for plant operator training and assessment within the extractive and mineral products industries. . There are two types of provision under the scheme:
- Operator Training
- Operator Assessment
Who should attend?
This is a basic programme of training and familiarisation designed for new or recently appointed operators to give them the skills and knowledge required to be able to operate the machine in a working environment.
Course objectives
At the end of basic training the trainee operators will take a basic skills test. Following a period of improvership, (machine operating experience), they will then be eligible to apply for Mobile Plant Operator assessment.
Course structure and delivery methods

- carrying out pre-start checks;
- start-up procedures;
